Autumn Update!

My apologies for not posting since August. September though December are a very fun and busy time for the Sitzman Family there are holidays, many many Birthdays, and all the goodness of changing leaves, pumpkin smells, and delicious food! I have informed my husband when we start a family our children must have spring and summer birthdays other wise we are gunna go broke every year! haha

In October we spent some time with our family up in Columbus, Ohio! Dane's older brother, his wife, and our sweet niece! Here are a few pictures from our trip.

We went to the Columbus Zoo it was so awesome! Jack Hanna used to be the Zoo Director there which is a fun fact! The Polar Bear exhibit was incredible!

Happy Birthday to me! Amazing cake from my hubby.

My top 10 Don'ts of Air Travel!

Great movie!

As a Flight Attendant I observe a lot of travelers and have learned a lot about traveling in the last year. So here's my list what NOT to do.....

1. Don't where your PJ's, Jammies, or as my niece says "Jammers" to the airport or to fly. Please NO ONE wants to see a grown man or woman in their Pajama's. It looks terrible and is tacky. Just wear a simple t-shirt and jeans.

2. Don't forget about personal hygiene while traveling. Please take a shower, brush your teeth, and wear deodorant. Do these things as least for the Flight Attendant's sake we have to breath recycled air all day long.

3. Don't let your baby, toddler, or small child make the entire airplane miserable by letting them kick and scream. Travel smart bring healthy snacks, toys, books, DVD player with movies to keep these little ones entertained.

4. Don't assume Flight Attendants know everything about your connecting flight status or information about what gate your next flight is leaving out of....because we don't.  At any given airport on any given day their are hundreds of flights going and coming all day long thats impossible to know all those details.

5. Don't leave your manners at the security checkpoint. Please and thank you go a long way.

6. Don't forget to remember that weather happens and when it does your flight might be delayed or even cancelled but its not the end of the world. Life is too short to be angry and mad about a cancelled flight....even if you are headed on vacation.  C'est La Vie.... "That's Life"

7. Don't leave your electronics on during take off and landing. If I had a dime for every time I said that statement I would be a millionaire living on the beach somewhere. We as a society forget that there is life outside of your portable electronic devices.

8. Don't forget when booking your flight to give yourself plenty of TIME in between connections....15,20,30 minutes is just not enough time to get from terminal to terminal and who wants to be that person running through the airport.

9. Don't leave all your trash in your seat....I'm nor is any other Flight Attendant a maid service. We come by 2-3 times per flight to pick up trash. Just throw it away then.

10. Don't make me be a MEAN Flight Attendant...follow the rules and turn off all you electronic devices. It's that simple!

Reading Rainbow

Does anyone remember that show as a kid??? Well I do and I loved it. I also LOVE leisure reading and I do it all the time these days. My husband calls me a nerd and he is probably right I love reading, learning, and education. So here are just a few books I have read in the past two months.

Read the book don't go see the movie. Book is always better.

I love Bethenny Frankel...she is smart, savvy, and hilarious. Her book at parts is sad and heartbreaking, but what I like about her is  that she is real.

Such an insightful book about men and the way God has wired and made them.

Great book about grace, loving others, and finding a real family in the least likely place against all odds.

AMAZING! A must for engaged couples and newly married. Every page is full of practical and godly wisdom and guidance about investing into your marriage from the beginning.

Paradise In the Painted Desert

"Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the Lord our God is holy."
-Psalms 99:8-9

We spent our Honeymoon in Sedona, Arizona it was beyond breathtaking such a HUGE reminder that God is so creative in the beauty of the earth. How you can feel so small next to a giant mountain and just bask in the majesty of the Creator of the Universe! I honestly can't wait to go back to Arizona.... we loved it! It was such an adventure... we went on a Jeep tour over all the Red Rocks, my husband literally smiled ear to ear the entire time, he looked like a little kid! It was AWESOME. We lunched and toured a old ghost town called Jerome one of the most wickedest city in the wild wild west, visited native american ruins,  enjoyed late night dessert by an adobe fire under the stars soooo romantic, and relaxed by the pool at our resort which my husband Dane said it looked more like a giant bath tub than a pool still we had a blast! Sedona is so beautiful and peaceful you can see the stars at night, the big blue sky against red rocks is gorgeous early in the morning.  I'm day dreaming about it right now and wishing I was there again.

District Of Columbia

So last week I had a 27 hour layover in Washington, DC I officially have a new love affair with this fabulous city! It was my first time ever visiting our great nations capital and I can't wait to go back with my hubby sometime soon for more sightseeing! It has all the elements of a great busy bustling city like NYC, except it is much cleaner and smells better than New York. Speaking of smells you can just smell the politics, money, and power as you walk through the streets of DC it is craziness. So myself and another Flight Attendant I was working with went exploring.
A few stops we visited were....

  • The White House
  • National Mall (aka a giant, long, grassy knoll)
  • National Aviation and Space Museum... free admission and such a neat museum if you love all things airplanes and space exploration!
  • The Pentagon Memorial soo emotional and moving.
  • Old George Town....so cute with a bunch of shops, bakeries, and restaurants.
If you haven't  ever been to Washington, DC......GO GO GO!!! You wont regret it!

Here are a few  photos of all the crazy uniforms FA ( Flight Attendants) have wore in the past few decades.

I just can't shake this Travel Bug

Greetings Everyone,
So I decided to breakdown and start a blog. This will be a place for me to pour out my thoughts and feeling mainly about traveling, life flying the friendly skies, and all the new challenges of being a newlywed and everything in between!
